RADAR offers audiences contemporary cinema, classic films, and retrospectives of filmmakers and actors who are fundamental to the history of cinema. Through RADAR, the diversity of cultures in Europe continues to be promoted, in line with Oviedo’s bid to become European Capital of Culture 2031.

The Filarmónica Theatre hosts the annual AMAS Awards ceremony (Asturian Music Yearbook Awards). This gala recognises talent, creativity and musical production across various genres, and celebrates the careers and best recordings of the wider musical community of the Principality of Asturias.

This season takes an artistic journey that interconnects everything (like a bus), through a performing arts programme aimed at strengthening and giving visibility to the five resident companies in the municipality, as well as major national productions.

CAFCA* (Culture, Art, Family and Open City Festival) is a performing arts season designed for family audiences. It offers a journey through contemporary techniques and aesthetics, drawing on classic forms such as vaudeville, commedia dell’arte, circus and classical dance.

A prestigious annual programme focused on the diversity of languages, aesthetics and generations within contemporary jazz. Promoted by the Centro Nacional de Difusión Musical (CNDM) and the Municipal Culture Foundation, it presents national and international jazz performances between January and March.

The Off spirit allows culture to breathe beyond major frameworks and reach different audiences and rhythms. Oviedo is transformed into a multi-layered stage, where the established and the emerging coexist, as do the artistic and the social. Culture ceases to be something to be merely observed and becomes something to be shared and experienced.

The Filarmónica is getting ready to unleash its first collective laugh. FIHU, a festival designed to champion humour as the best language in the world, is not just an event; it is a statement of intent for Oviedo to laugh more and better than ever before.

The Semana del Audiovisual Contemporáneo de Oviedo is a major cultural festival based on an expanded programme that goes beyond the screening of films (short and feature-length). It encourages audiences to break down barriers and to think of audiovisual expression as a distinct artistic path—one that is more experimental, bold and complex.

This prestigious annual folk competition, organised by the Oviedo City Council through its Festivities Department, aims to promote tonada, Asturian song and bagpipe playing. It is a key competition for the traditional music of the Principality, seeking to keep its culture and rhythms alive.
